Ingame guides

Overview

Here you are greeted with your name, who made you and your gold.

Here it is important that you read what is written below the link. Excessive use of this link in chats and forums will get you banned, do not use these on irc.ogamenet.net as there is a 'watchdog' who will bann you automatically. Remember, you might like the game, but not everyone will.

Next we have your skills:

Shows what level you are on right now

Force is how strong you can hit during a fight, the higher the better your chance to do massive damage.

Defense is how well you can defend yourself, this will show how much (little) damage you take in fights and if you can dodge attacks of the other player.

Dexterity is important to hit your opponent during a fight, the higher it is the better is your chance to not miss him.

Endurance has to do with your hitpoints and how much you will regenerate every hour. the higher your endurance the quicker your hp will be refilled.

Charisma is the most controversial of all skills. Rumors had it that with high charisma you got better manhunts but those are just rumors and therfore FALSE. What charisma really does is give you a better chance of finding a target by using the random search function on the raid page (we will get to this later) and quite possibly reducing the advantage your enemy gets from his hideout (again we get to it later).

Experience is exactly what it says: the more you have the higher your level will be, it will show you exactly how much you need to reach the next level. You gain experience by manhunting or by doing jobs in the graveyard.

Your health shows how much more you can take before you are not able to fight anymore. Dont worry as you can NEVER die (go below 0 hp) but remember that in a fight if you go below 10 health your opponent will automatically win. Also you cannot do any attacks or hunts while your health is below 25.

You can upgrade all those by pressing the upgrade button. But remember you can only do this while you are neither hunting or working! The skills also go up in price the higher you get them.

Below all these come the statistics which are pretty self explainatory.

Next comes your inventory: it shows you what weapons you own at the moment and which items you have. Remember that you have to activate a weapon to use it in battle, for that just click on the use button besides the weapon. To use an item (potion) choose which potion you want, if you have more than one, click on use and then on refresh. If you decide you do not wish to take the potion just click on the overview button again to return you to the main page.

City

Welcome to the city.

From here you can go to either the merchant or the graveyard:

Merchant:

Here you can buy both weapons and items. it will tell you how much gold you have at the moment and then it gives you a 'choice of goods':

- Weapons:
The default page will show you weapons, here it is what it will look like

Each weapon will have its picture to the left and a description to the right where it tells you the name of the weapon, how many you own and if you own any a 'sell' choice to get rid of the weapon. next it will tell you the advantages you get from the weapon (in this case an extra 10 levels of force and 3 levels of defense; but please remember that you can also get a weapon that does not give you a defense bonus or some even decrease your defense!). Below is what gets some people confused, the prices for sale and purchase. On first thought many people will say "wow a bug since I can purchase it for 2000 gold (in this case) and sell it for 4000 (in this case)" but its no bug. You just have to remember that it is written from the merchants view. He will sell you the weapon for 4000 but only purchase it back for 2000.

Below that is the level requirement before you can use the weapon.

You can buy a weapon before you can use it. If you have enough money there will be a 'buy' option to the right of this field, but be sure that it is what you want to buy.

- Items:

You will have to click on the items link to get to the item page. This page is exactly like the weapons page.

You have the picture to the left, a name of the item. then how many you currently have in your inventory (if you own any you can sell with the 'sell' button). Below is what this item will do to you (in this case it will give you back 50 of your health). Then it tells you how often you can use the item before it dissapears (1 time in this case) and then the prices to buy and sell it and which level you need to use it. To the right is the buy button.

Graveyard:

In the graveyard you can take on jobs to pass the time, dependin on your level you will get a certain pay. You will also get experience points for working. If you work for 1 hour you will get 1 xp. Nothing else to do here.

Raid

THE most important option in the game, here you will make the most money and get the booty.

First is the werewolf hunt, it has two fields.

The first is the specific hunt field:

Here you can enter the name of an enemy you would like to specificly attack, they might either have attacked you earlier, you have been asked to attack them or you got their name from the highscore page because you think they may have lots of money.

Next is the vampire/werewolf hunt:

Where you just choose if you want to search the 'normal' way which will try and find you anyone you can attack (even below your level) or if you choose to look only for 'equally strong or stronger' enemies to attack. This is dependant on level not skills!

Both these options cost 1 gold to use, if for some reason you do not get a result but a yellow writing telling you what went wrong the 1 gold will not be deducted, but it may happen that with the vampire/werewolfhunt you may not find a target!.

Here is what 'error' messages you can get:

This enemy has allready been attacked recently - exaclty what it means, I do not know how much time has to pass before that person can be attacked again.

You have pity on this enemy - do not know what triggers this but it happens when the victim is much weaker than you and you just got unlucky. Do not know what triggers this exactly or how long it takes until you can attack that person if its random for weaker enemies.

You find no enemy - again what it says, upgrade your charisma or just try again, its only one gold.

Now the question would be "Why should I fight?" and its a good question. If you win a fight you will gain about 10% of your enemies gold so if they have 1000 gold you will gain 100 for yourself, but remember that if you loose you also loose 10% of your gold, so my advise would be to only attack when you have little money left.

Another thing is that you can only attack every 15 minutes (5 minutes with premium)

Next is the most important aspect of bitefight, the manhunt:

Manhunts give you the booty that makes up the positions of the highscore. You choose how long you want to manhunt, from 10 minutes to the full time you have for that day. You normally have 2 hours every day (clock resets at 0:00 CET which is GMT+1) and 4 hours if you have premium.

Here it is extremely important to know that a 10 minute manhunt can give you the EXACT same outcome as a 2 hour manhunt. So its best to do 10 minute manhunts. You run the chance to run into a lantern with a 10 minute manhunt which will give you no booty for those 10 minutes but its still a better chance than doing longer manhunts (after 30 minutes or so at once you will not have the chance to hit a lantern anymore but its not worth the safety) all top players do 10 minute manhunts for the top number hours they have each night.

It will also tell you how many minutes you have allready done this day/night so you know how much you have left.

Manhunts cost you 10 gold so be sure you dont spend it all on skills or other things so you allways have at least 10 gold left.

Highscores

First you will see the race highscore which is pretty much just a statistic showing how many vampires and werewolves are there, how much total booty each have gotten etc etc.

Then you will see the 1000 highest ranked players in packs of 50.

Its set up cataloged list:

Where the rank race name and level should be self explainatory. After that you can click on booty, victims, victory, defeat or gold to show the leaders of each of those categories:

Booty: who had the best manhunts and got the most blood/meat out of it (you can also see how much money the have AT LEAST as every liter/kg booty gives you 1 gold)

Victims: who has 'bitten' the most humans through their bitefight link. Depending on where you have the link (personal webpage, college page, word of mough propaganda) this may be high or low, (remember that one victim only nets between 1-5 liter/kg booty and the same ammount gold)

Victory: shows who won the most fights.

Defeat: shows who lost the most fights.

Gold: this shows who got the most gold taken from the other kind, remember that this is only the gold taken and the gold lost by that member to others is not subtracted from this!

Settings

Here you can change the important things of your account.

First you can change the email address which you want your lost password requests send to.

Next is the setup graphics pack which does not work at the moment.

The RPG-description of your character is what will be displayed above your stats when someone clicks on your name on the highscore or before a fight. You may enter whatever you wish, bbcode should work so check the forums what can be used.

Next is the text that is shown to your victims (people who click on the link that was provided on the overview page) just put in whatever you wish or leave it blank but remember that as everywhere else on the site, if you post anything inappropriate you can be banned. Below is optional data that will also be shown when people look at your profile (by clicking on your name on the highscores or on messages) feel free to enter as much or little as you wish.

Next is the change password link in which you will have to enter your password in the first field and then the new one into the ones below it.

The delete account button should be self explainatory, it is not told how long it takes to delete the account but it should be at least a day so if you decide otherwise you can come back and uncheck the button.

Make sure to click the button to finalize your decisions.

Hideout

It starts out with telling you how much money you have and then there is a picture of your hideout.

Below that is the 'upgrade hideout:' panel. here you can upgrade your hideouts different parts, if you have the money.

You have to remember that you cannot upgrade anything above the current level of your domicile, so if you have a lvl 3 domicile you cannot upgrade your wall or way or environment to lvl 4 even if you have enough money.

Your domicile and wall will increase the chance that you will not be found by someone using the random hunt search button while the path and landscape levels give you an addition to your charisma, therefore helping you find your enemies in their hideouts. At this moment it is not sure how many levels are added depending on your hideouts level (so lvl 6 path and lvl 6 landscape will not necessarily give you 12 levels of charisma extra!!!).

Premium

Here you can buy a premium account which gives you extras that are extremely useful! Mainly the extra 2 hours of manhunting a day will make a huge difference in the statistics. Also you can attack others every 5 minutes not every 15 minutes.

For problems getting premium ask the admins please.

Help

This will eventually lead you to the link to the official faq and below you can add something you would wish to see in that faq and send it to the admins through the box provided.

Board

This will send you to the bitefight boards.

Leave Game

This should again be self explainatory.
